In this study we are interested in how well people find changes in a complex image, and how well they incorporate verbal information about those images in their search. We are interested in whether children with autism spectrum disorders search for changes in a different way than typically developing children.

Can you find the single thing that differs in the two images above? Do you think your search time would change if you knew something about the image before you saw it?

We use eye-tracking technology to measure exactly what people are looking at as they perform the task.

We are currently recruiting children with autism and typically developing children ages 8-12 years for this project.
